I have been happy offering to support SAIG in their campaign against the plans for an incinerator at the Newhurst Quarry in Shepshed from the start.
As you will see from the facebook group there is also opposition to the plans from Labour councillors in Loughborough who will also be affected.
As soon as the announcement was made, along with Labour councillors in Loughborough, an open public meeting was organised and held to explore ways to oppose the applicaiton.
I have written to the County Council with my objections and asked a number of technical questions too about the process. (Attached below)
I will continue to work with the Group to help get their views across to the County Council who wil decide the application.
However, my main route is through Labour Councillor Max Hunt who is leading the campaign in County Hall. This is the plce where the decision will be made on technical grounds and where most effort is being placed.
