Making Poverty History in 2004

Already I have attended the pre- launch in Westminster in November 2004 as well as attending planning meetings. As Secretary of the All Party HIPC group we launched the campaign in Parliament along with a host of stars - Lenny Henry, Dawn French, Claudia Schiffer, Richard Curtis and many others. We also coordinated a meeting with Bob Geldof who came to thank us for our hard work too!

I attended the CAFOD launch of the campaign in Loughborough and will be joining many of the events in the town over the coming months.

I also spoke at the Regional planning day organised by Oxfam in February at Leicester College.

I was a guest at the People & Planet campaign for $2 a day week. I will also be along at the launch of the Fairtrade events in Loughborough.

In the past I have been involved in the Fair Play at the Olympics campaign and I visited Ethiopia in 2002 with Oxfam to monitor and promote their work there.
