Rosebery School

July 2006

As you can see from the News Pages I joined parents, staff and pupils at the last day for the school. It was an emotional goodbye and I still feel very bitter about the way the Tory County Council handled the whole situation. I still believe they got this one wrong.

I have done everyting I can to support local parents, governors and teachers in their efforts to stop the scholl being closed so quickly. I have made representations to the County Council and even managed to ask the Prime Minister a question in the House of Commons on Budget Day.

have now received a copy of the Report from Leicestershire County Council on the future of Rosebery School. I do not believe that enough options are considered in the proposed consultation. Limiting discussion to closure or merger does not leave an open mind to the possibility of turning the school around for local parents. I will be calling on County Hall to widen their horizons to include other options.
