Were we misled on WMD by the Prime Minister?
Although I did not support the war at the time, I don't believe we were misled by the Prime Minister on the issue of WMD as he saw it. In hindsight we can all be very clever, but on the basis of what he saw, even though I disagreed with him, the Prime Minister acted on what he thought was a serious threat. Having spoken to him personally on a number of occasions about my own moral reservations I never had any doubt to question his own motives - even 'of the record'.
Clearly I thought it was wrong at the time and have not changed my mind in that respect, but I do not consider I or others were misled.
